Procedures
Pre-Registration
Prior to your surgery day, our Registration Coordinator may call you to
obtain information about your insurance coverage and other information
necessary to register you for surgery.
In
Case of Illness
If you develop a fever or symptoms related to a cold or the flu prior
to surgery, please contact your surgeon and call us at the Surgery Center
at (317) 228-1100 x 210.
Changes
in the time Your Surgery is Scheduled
Surgery schedules can change for a number of reasons,
such as with cancellations or emergencies. If the time
or date of your surgery would need to be changed, we
will contact you as soon as possible to inform you of
the situation and to arrange a new time for your
surgery.
What
to Bring to the Women's Physician Surgery Center

Bring
any written orders or instructions from your
surgeon.

Bring
any medications you have been taking.

Bring
glasses to wear and a case to put them in.
Please remove contact lenses.

Bring
a friend or relative to drive you home.

Bring
insurance, Medicare card, and any payment due.

Leave
all jewelry and valuables at home.

Do not apply
any make-up, cologne or perfume the day of your surgery.

Wear
comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
Pre-Op
Instructions
-
Upon
arrival, you may be required to give a urine
specimen.

Discontinue
all aspirin and herbal supplements at least two
weeks prior to surgery unless otherwise directed by
your physician.

A
nurse from the Surgery Center will contact you the
day before surgery to review instructions and
medical history.

If
having general anesthesia, take nothing by mouth
after midnight.

If
having local anesthesia, no diet restrictions apply.
